We only accept original comment pieces and ask that all submissions comply with the following guidelines:

  • Pieces should not exceed 750 words
  • Spell out names rather than using acronyms
  • Links to further reading are permissible provided they are not commercial in nature
  • Generic press releases are not accepted
  • Product promotion is not accepted
  • Comments about events, such as budgets, sporting occasions and international gatherings, need to be submitted during or very shortly after those events to be considered

Tony Juniper

Tony Juniper is one of Britain’s best-known environmental campaigners.

Chair of global rainforest charity Cool Earth, Tony has worked on efforts to conserve tropical forests around the world for nearly 30 years. He has held roles including Director of Friends of the Earth, special advisor to His Majesty The King’s Rainforests Project and Director for Advocacy and Campaigns at WWF. Tony’s experience on the frontline fight to save the world’s most precious trees, plants and animals has inspired many to do the same.

His current role as Chair of Natural England means Tony balances preserving and rewilding UK’s nature with championing Earth’s rainforests and raising awareness on the importance of taking genuine environmental action.

Varuzhan Nersesyan

Varuzhan Nersesyan is an Armenian diplomat who has represented his country in two of its most significant overseas postings. He served as Ambassador of Armenia to the United States from November 2018 until July 2021, before taking up his current role as Ambassador to the United Kingdom in July 2021. During his tenure in London, Nersesyan oversaw a notable development in Armenia's diplomatic presence when the embassy relocated to new five-storey premises on St James Square, marking a significant upgrade from its previous location at the Armenian House, where it had operated since the embassy's establishment in 1992.

Through his senior diplomatic positions in Washington and London, Nersesyan has been at the forefront of Armenian foreign policy and bilateral relations with two key Western powers. He writes commentary for Comment Central.

Vicki Prais
Vicki Prais is a human rights lawyer and independent human rights consultant specialising in prisoners' rights, dignity behind bars and prison reform. She has worked for the UN, Council of Europe and the not-for-profit sector. She was a Human Rights Advisor to the UK Foreign & Commonwealth Development Office/Prisoners' Abroad.
Victor Kattan FHEA and Danny Friedman KC

Victor Kattan FHEA is an Assistant Professor in Public International Law at the University of Nottingham School of Law.

Danny Friedman KC is a barrister specialising at the interface between crime, human rights and public law, with additional focus on public international law.

Both were part of the team that prepared Britain Owes Palestine's 400-page legal petition, which was delivered to Downing Street in September 2025.


Victoria Borwick

Victoria Lorne Peta Borwick, Baroness Borwick, is a British Conservative politician who represented Kensington as Member of Parliament from 2015 to 2017. Before entering politics, she worked in senior management positions in event management with P&O and DMG World Media. She joined the Conservative Party headquarters as fundraising director before being elected as a councillor in Kensington and Chelsea.

Borwick served as a Member of the London Assembly from 2008 to 2015 and held the position of Deputy Mayor of London from 2012 to 2015. During her tenure as MP for Kensington, she became the first Member of Parliament for that constituency to lose the seat to the Opposition when Labour won it in 2017. She now writes commentary for Comment Central.
