Anthony Stuart Devenish is a British Conservative politician born on 31 March 1968. He served as the member of the London Assembly for West Central from 2016 until 2024, representing constituents across some of London's most prominent districts during a period of significant political change in the capital. Alongside his Assembly work, Devenish has maintained a role in local government as a councillor on Westminster City Council, where he represents the Knightsbridge and Belgravia ward.
Throughout his political career, Devenish has been associated with the Conservative Friends of Israel group, reflecting his engagement with international relations and Middle Eastern policy issues. His dual role in both city-wide London governance and Westminster's local council has given him particular insight into urban policy challenges, from housing and transport to local service delivery in one of Britain's most high-profile boroughs. Tony Devenish writes commentary for Comment Central.
