We only accept original comment pieces and ask that all submissions comply with the following guidelines:

  • Pieces should not exceed 750 words
  • Spell out names rather than using acronyms
  • Links to further reading are permissible provided they are not commercial in nature
  • Generic press releases are not accepted
  • Product promotion is not accepted
  • Comments about events, such as budgets, sporting occasions and international gatherings, need to be submitted during or very shortly after those events to be considered

Tim Knox

Tim Knox is a distinguished British art historian and museum director who has held leadership positions at some of the United Kingdom's most prestigious cultural institutions. Born Timothy Aidan John Knox on 9 August 1962, he served as Director of the Fitzwilliam Museum at the University of Cambridge from 2013 to 2018, where he oversaw one of Britain's leading university art museums. In March 2018, Knox was appointed Director of the Royal Collection, the private art collection of the British royal family held in trust by The King for his successors and the nation.

As Director of the Royal Collection, Knox manages an extraordinary collection comprising almost all aspects of the fine and decorative arts, containing more than a million objects housed across some fifteen present and former royal residences throughout the United Kingdom. His extensive expertise in art history and museum curation has positioned him as a leading authority on British art and cultural heritage. Tim Knox writes commentary for Comment Central.

Tom Gordon MP

Thomas Anthony Gordon is a British Liberal Democrat politician who has served as the Member of Parliament for Harrogate and Knaresborough since 2024. He was elected to represent the North Yorkshire constituency in the general election that year, joining the Liberal Democrat parliamentary party in the House of Commons.

As a relatively new MP, Gordon represents his constituents in Harrogate and Knaresborough from the Liberal Democrat benches in Parliament. He writes commentary for Comment Central.
