We only accept original comment pieces and ask that all submissions comply with the following guidelines:
- Pieces should not exceed 750 words
- Spell out names rather than using acronyms
- Links to further reading are permissible provided they are not commercial in nature
- Generic press releases are not accepted
- Product promotion is not accepted
- Comments about events, such as budgets, sporting occasions and international gatherings, need to be submitted during or very shortly after those events to be considered

Alex Davies is a director at purpose-led communications agency Higginson Strategy. He was previously chief of staff to Sir Vince Cable during his leadership of the Liberal Democrats and is a former Lambeth councillor.
Alex Fenton is Group CEO of The Legends Agency, an offshoring recruitment firm specialising in South African talent. He is also Partner at finance broker Funding Bay/FBX Capital.
Alexandra Louise Mayer, born 2 June 1981, is a British Labour Party politician who has represented Dunstable and Leighton Buzzard as Member of Parliament since 2024. Before entering Westminster, she served as a Member of the European Parliament for the East of England region between 2016 and 2019, giving her significant experience in both domestic and European legislative contexts during a particularly notable period in British politics.
Mayer's political career has spanned two distinct parliamentary institutions, allowing her to develop expertise across a range of policy areas at both national and regional levels. Her transition from the European Parliament to the House of Commons reflects the changing political landscape in the United Kingdom. She now writes commentary for Comment Central.
Alexander Clackson is the founder of Global Political Insight think tank in London, and a researcher on Russia, which he has covered for the past decade.
Alice Potter is the cat welfare expert for the Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (RSPCA).
