We only accept original comment pieces and ask that all submissions comply with the following guidelines:

  • Pieces should not exceed 750 words
  • Spell out names rather than using acronyms
  • Links to further reading are permissible provided they are not commercial in nature
  • Generic press releases are not accepted
  • Product promotion is not accepted
  • Comments about events, such as budgets, sporting occasions and international gatherings, need to be submitted during or very shortly after those events to be considered

Natalie Argile

Natalie Argile is Head Teacher of Blackheath High School, an all-girls independent school in South East London.

Natasha Asghar MS

Natasha Asghar MS is a Welsh Conservative Party politician who has represented the Casnewydd Islwyn constituency in the Senedd since May 2026. Before this, she served as a regional Member of the Senedd for South Wales East from 2021 to 2026, taking up a seat previously held by her father Mohammad Asghar until his death in 2020. She holds the distinction of being the first female ethnic-minority member of the Welsh Parliament.

During her time in the Senedd, Asghar has taken on several Shadow Cabinet positions, most notably serving as Shadow Cabinet Secretary for Education from December 2024 to January 2026. Her work has focused on education policy and matters affecting her South Wales constituencies. She now contributes political commentary and analysis to Comment Central.

Navendu Mishra MP

Navendu Prabhat Mishra is a British Labour Party politician who has represented Stockport as Member of Parliament since 2019. Born on 22 August 1989, he was elected to the House of Commons during the December general election that year, securing the seat for Labour in the Greater Manchester constituency.

As the MP for Stockport, Mishra has worked on issues affecting his constituents in the north-west of England since taking office. He continues to serve in Parliament as part of the Labour benches, contributing to debates and legislative work in the Commons. Mishra writes commentary for Comment Central, sharing his perspectives on political and policy matters.

Neil Carmichael

Neil Carmichael is Honorary Professor of Politics and Education, University of Nottingham; Senior Adviser at PLMR; Chair, Commission on Sustainable Learning for Work, Life and a Changing Economy; President of Conservatives for a People’s Vote; and, former Member of Parliament for Stroud and chair of the Education Select Committee.

Born in 1984, he entered the House of Commons following the general election that year, taking up his seat as Member of Parliament for the West Midlands constituency.

As a Conservative MP, Shastri-Hurst contributes to parliamentary debates and constituency matters from his Solihull West and Shirley base. He writes commentary for Comment Central, offering political and policy analysis from his perspective as an elected representative.
