We only accept original comment pieces and ask that all submissions comply with the following guidelines:

  • Pieces should not exceed 750 words
  • Spell out names rather than using acronyms
  • Links to further reading are permissible provided they are not commercial in nature
  • Generic press releases are not accepted
  • Product promotion is not accepted
  • Comments about events, such as budgets, sporting occasions and international gatherings, need to be submitted during or very shortly after those events to be considered

Sarah Gibson MP

Sarah Gibson MP is a British Liberal Democrat politician who has represented Chippenham in Parliament since the 2024 general election. Born in April 1966, she built her political career at the local level before entering Westminster, having served on Wiltshire Council following her elections in 2017 and 2021. Her experience in local government provided her with detailed knowledge of constituency concerns and regional policy issues affecting Wiltshire.

As the Member of Parliament for Chippenham, Gibson brings her background in local authority work to her parliamentary duties, drawing on the insights gained during her years representing communities at council level. She contributes commentary and analysis to Comment Central, sharing her perspective on political developments and policy matters from her position as a Liberal Democrat MP.

Scott Arthur is a British academic and Labour Party politician who was born on 8 June 1969. He was elected Member of Parliament for Edinburgh South West in 2024, representing the Labour Party in this constituency.

Arthur combines his background in academia with his work in Parliament as a Labour MP. He writes commentary for Comment Central.
