We only accept original comment pieces and ask that all submissions comply with the following guidelines:
- Pieces should not exceed 750 words
- Spell out names rather than using acronyms
- Links to further reading are permissible provided they are not commercial in nature
- Generic press releases are not accepted
- Product promotion is not accepted
- Comments about events, such as budgets, sporting occasions and international gatherings, need to be submitted during or very shortly after those events to be considered

Linda Lou Chavez is an American author, commentator, and radio talk show host who has been a prominent voice in conservative politics for decades. Born on June 17, 1947, she served as the highest-ranking woman in President Ronald Reagan's White House and made history when President George W. Bush nominated her as Secretary of Labor, making her the first Latina ever nominated to the United States Cabinet. She withdrew from consideration following media allegations about her employment of an illegal immigrant a decade earlier. In 2000, the Library of Congress recognized her contributions by naming her a Living Legend.
Chavez currently serves as Chairman of the Center for Equal Opportunity and works as a Fox News analyst. She writes a syndicated column that appears in newspapers nationwide each week and sits on the board of directors of two Fortune 500 companies, Pilgrim's Pride and ABM Industries. Her expertise spans labour policy, immigration, and equal opportunity issues. Linda Chavez writes commentary for Comment Central.
