We only accept original comment pieces and ask that all submissions comply with the following guidelines:

  • Pieces should not exceed 750 words
  • Spell out names rather than using acronyms
  • Links to further reading are permissible provided they are not commercial in nature
  • Generic press releases are not accepted
  • Product promotion is not accepted
  • Comments about events, such as budgets, sporting occasions and international gatherings, need to be submitted during or very shortly after those events to be considered

Steven Woolfe

Steven Marcus Woolfe is a British barrister, writer, and commentator who currently serves as Director of the Centre for Migration & Economic Prosperity, a research think tank examining population and immigration issues in the United Kingdom, Europe, and the United States. Born on 6 October 1967, Woolfe has established himself as a prominent voice on migration policy and economic matters.

Woolfe served as a Member of the European Parliament for North West England from 2014 to 2019. He was initially elected as a UKIP MEP in 2014 but resigned from the party in October 2016 to sit as an Independent MEP, citing his opposition to what he viewed as the party's overly negative immigration policy. He continued serving as an independent member until July 2019. Through his work at the Centre for Migration & Economic Prosperity and his practice as a barrister, Woolfe focuses on immigration, population dynamics, and economic policy. He writes commentary for Comment Central.

Stuart Anderson MP

Stuart Paul Anderson is a British Conservative Party politician who has represented South Shropshire as Member of Parliament since 2024. Born on 17 July 1976, Anderson first entered Parliament in 2019 when he was elected MP for Wolverhampton South West, a seat he held until 2024. During his parliamentary career, he has held several significant positions within government and opposition, serving as Vice-Chamberlain of the Household from November 2023 to July 2024 and subsequently as shadow Minister for Defence from July to November 2024.

Through these roles, Anderson has developed expertise in defence policy whilst also gaining experience in the whips' office as Vice-Chamberlain. His political career has seen him represent two distinct constituencies in the West Midlands and Shropshire, giving him insight into both urban and rural policy challenges. Anderson writes commentary for Comment Central.

The Rt Hon Robert Halfon

The Rt Hon Robert Halfon is a British Conservative politician who represented Harlow in Parliament from 2010 to 2024. Born on 22 March 1969, he began his political career as a researcher for Conservative MPs, serving as Chief of Staff to Shadow Chancellor Oliver Letwin and later as political director of Conservative Friends of Israel before entering the House of Commons at the 2010 general election.

Throughout his parliamentary career, Halfon focused extensively on education and skills policy. He attended Cabinet as Minister without Portfolio and Deputy Chairman of the Conservative Party under David Cameron from 2015 to 2016, then served as Minister of State for Skills in Theresa May's government from 2016 to 2017. After a period on the backbenches chairing the Education Select Committee from 2017 to 2022, he returned to ministerial office under Rishi Sunak as Minister of State for Skills, Apprenticeships and Higher Education.
