We only accept original comment pieces and ask that all submissions comply with the following guidelines:
- Pieces should not exceed 750 words
- Spell out names rather than using acronyms
- Links to further reading are permissible provided they are not commercial in nature
- Generic press releases are not accepted
- Product promotion is not accepted
- Comments about events, such as budgets, sporting occasions and international gatherings, need to be submitted during or very shortly after those events to be considered

Neil McLoughlin is a Politics and Sociology graduate from the University of Cape Town.
Neil Shastri-Hurst is a British Conservative Party politician who has represented Solihull West and Shirley in Parliament since 2024. Born in 1984, he entered the House of Commons following the general election that year, taking up his seat as Member of Parliament for the West Midlands constituency.
As a Conservative MP, Shastri-Hurst contributes to parliamentary debates and constituency matters from his Solihull West and Shirley base. He writes commentary for Comment Central, offering political and policy analysis from his perspective as an elected representative.
Neil Watson is a Eurasia expert, researcher, editor and a journalist. He is the CEO of the Aitmatov Academy.
Sir Nicholas Dakin, born in July 1955, is a British Labour politician who has represented Scunthorpe in Parliament across two separate periods, first from 2010 to 2019 and again since 2024. During his parliamentary career, he has held several significant positions including Shadow Minister for Schools from 2015 to 2016 and Shadow Deputy Leader of the House of Commons in 2015. He also served as an opposition whip for extended periods between 2011 and 2019. Following Labour's return to government, Dakin was appointed Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Sentencing from 2024 to 2025, giving him direct ministerial responsibility for criminal justice policy.
Since September 2025, he has served as Vice-Chamberlain of the Household, a senior government whip position within the Royal Household. Throughout his time in Parliament, Dakin has developed expertise in education policy, criminal justice and sentencing reform, and parliamentary procedure. He writes commentary for Comment Central on these and other political matters.
