We only accept original comment pieces and ask that all submissions comply with the following guidelines:

  • Pieces should not exceed 750 words
  • Spell out names rather than using acronyms
  • Links to further reading are permissible provided they are not commercial in nature
  • Generic press releases are not accepted
  • Product promotion is not accepted
  • Comments about events, such as budgets, sporting occasions and international gatherings, need to be submitted during or very shortly after those events to be considered

Professor Ibrahim Ozdemir is a world-renowned ecologist who has been a consultant to the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP) since 2015. He is Professor of Philosophy & Ecology and Founding President at Hasan Kalyoncu University, and previously was Director-General at the Department of Foreign Affairs in the Turkish Ministry of Education. He was a lead member of the drafting team for the Islamic Declaration on Global Climate Change adopted at the International Islamic Climate Change Symposium in Istanbul, and endorsed by the UN United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). He is also a Higher Committee judge for The Award of The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for Environmental Management in The Islamic World.

Ildar Sharipov is an international businessman working in the financial sector since 2007. His businesses have served millions of clients and sponsored or sponsor sports teams including Liverpool FC, Borussia Dortmund FC, a title Dakar Rally team and many other top-tier sports stars. In January 2020 he launched a not-for-profit organisation in the UK called Association Against Abuse of Police Powers and Privileges (AAAPPP - www.aaappp.org.uk) as his purely non-political contribution to UK civil society. The NGO aims to act as a charity and take advantage of Ildar’s firsthand experience and knowledge, gained from unfortunate incidents which led to enormous damage to him personal and to his business over almost two years of his life.
