We only accept original comment pieces and ask that all submissions comply with the following guidelines:
- Pieces should not exceed 750 words
- Spell out names rather than using acronyms
- Links to further reading are permissible provided they are not commercial in nature
- Generic press releases are not accepted
- Product promotion is not accepted
- Comments about events, such as budgets, sporting occasions and international gatherings, need to be submitted during or very shortly after those events to be considered

Dr Mya-Rose Craig, born in 2002 and widely known as Birdgirl, is an English ornithologist, environmental activist, and author who gained recognition from a young age for her exceptional birdwatching accomplishments. Her achievements include becoming the youngest person to observe half of the world's bird species and earning a Guinness World Record for birding across all seven continents. Through her ornithological work, she has established herself as a prominent voice in environmental conservation and wildlife advocacy.
Dr Craig combines her expertise in bird species and habitats with passionate activism for environmental causes. Her work spans scientific observation, public engagement with nature conservation, and efforts to promote greater diversity within the environmental movement. As both a practitioner and communicator in her field, she brings unique insights into biodiversity, climate challenges, and the importance of connecting younger generations with the natural world. She writes commentary for Comment Central.
Dr. Orlando Gutiérrez-Boronat is an award-winning author, co-founder and spokesperson for the Cuban Democratic Directorate, a nongovernmental organisation that supports the human rights movement in Cuba.
Dr Quinton Fivelman is Chief Scientific Officer at London Medical Laboratory. LML was formed in 2016 to provide pathology testing services to patients, pharmacies, doctors and clinics, nationwide.
Dr. Raoul-Gabriel Urma is an EdTech entrepreneur, author, and international speaker. He's the founder and Chairman of Cambridge Spark, a leading ed-tech startup educating professionals in AI and data skills.
Dr Roz Savage MP is an English ocean rower, environmental advocate, writer, speaker and politician who was elected as the Liberal Democrat Member of Parliament for South Cotswolds at the 2024 general election. Born Rosalind Elizabeth Adriana Savage on 23 December 1967, she distinguished herself as a pioneering ocean adventurer before entering Parliament, holding four Guinness World Records for ocean rowing. Her achievements include becoming the first woman to row solo across three oceans: the Atlantic, Pacific and Indian.
Her background in environmental advocacy and her extraordinary feats of endurance rowing inform her political perspective on environmental and sustainability issues. As a writer and speaker prior to her parliamentary career, Savage brought attention to ocean conservation and climate challenges through her unique platform as an athlete and campaigner. She now represents the South Cotswolds constituency in Westminster whilst contributing commentary to Comment Central on policy matters drawing from her diverse experience in environmental activism and public life.
Dr Sasha Woods is the Director of Science and Policy at environmental charity Earthwatch Europe. She leads the Science and Policy team at Earthwatch, ensuring the organisation’s work is scientifically rigorous and solutions focused.
