We only accept original comment pieces and ask that all submissions comply with the following guidelines:

  • Pieces should not exceed 750 words
  • Spell out names rather than using acronyms
  • Links to further reading are permissible provided they are not commercial in nature
  • Generic press releases are not accepted
  • Product promotion is not accepted
  • Comments about events, such as budgets, sporting occasions and international gatherings, need to be submitted during or very shortly after those events to be considered

Lee Gingell

Lee Gingell is the RSPCA's public affairs manager for local government. His work is focussed on building relationships with Councils across England, and working with them in the interests of animal welfare. He also manages the charity's flagship Pawprints scheme, which recognises public bodies and politicians who go above and beyond for animals.

Lee Rotherham
Dr Lee Rotherham is a political veteran having spent much of his career in involved in European Union affairs. After researching for the 'Westminster Group of Eight' Eurorebels, he advised three successive Shadow Foreign Secretaries, a role part-based within the European Parliament. This expertise led to his appointment as Chief of Staff to the Rt Hon David Heathcoat-Amory MP, British parliamentary delegate to the Convention on the Future of Europe, and a central role behind delegates opposing the European Constitution and the drafters of the Minority Report. He has been closely involved in a number of grassroots EU campaigning organisations over the years, most notably the Bruges Group, CAFE, and as a columnist for the European Journal. He has been extensively and internationally published on a palette of subjects. Since the TPA’s last edition of the Bumper Book of Government Waste (which he jointly wrote), 2008 has seen him co-author a major book for Open Europe on the EU’s PR budgets.
Leigh Ingham MP

Leigh Ingham MP is a British Labour politician who has represented Stafford in the House of Commons since 2024. Elected during a significant period for the Labour Party, Ingham has brought her political perspective to this Staffordshire constituency, working to address the concerns of her constituents in Parliament.

As Member of Parliament for Stafford, Ingham contributes to parliamentary debates and legislative processes from the Labour benches. She writes commentary for Comment Central, sharing her insights on political and policy matters with the website's readership.

Lembit Öpik

Lembit Öpik is a British former politician who represented Montgomeryshire in Wales as a Liberal Democrat Member of Parliament from 1997 to 2010. During his parliamentary career, he served as leader of the Welsh Liberal Democrats from 2001 to 2007. He made unsuccessful bids for the party presidency in 2004 and 2008, and also sought to become the Liberal Democrats' candidate for the 2012 London mayoral election without success.

Beyond his political career, Öpik gained public recognition through television appearances and considerable media attention surrounding his personal life, particularly his relationships with ITV weather presenter Siân Lloyd and Gabriela Irimia of pop duo the Cheeky Girls. Since losing his parliamentary seat at the 2010 general election, he has remained a public figure. Öpik now writes political and policy commentary for Comment Central.

Linda Chavez

Linda Lou Chavez is an American author, commentator, and radio talk show host who has been a prominent voice in conservative politics for decades. Born on June 17, 1947, she served as the highest-ranking woman in President Ronald Reagan's White House and made history when President George W. Bush nominated her as Secretary of Labor, making her the first Latina ever nominated to the United States Cabinet. She withdrew from consideration following media allegations about her employment of an illegal immigrant a decade earlier. In 2000, the Library of Congress recognized her contributions by naming her a Living Legend.

Chavez currently serves as Chairman of the Center for Equal Opportunity and works as a Fox News analyst. She writes a syndicated column that appears in newspapers nationwide each week and sits on the board of directors of two Fortune 500 companies, Pilgrim's Pride and ABM Industries. Her expertise spans labour policy, immigration, and equal opportunity issues. Linda Chavez writes commentary for Comment Central.
