About Peter
Peter James Guy Aldous, born 26 August 1961, is a British Conservative Party politician who represented the Waveney constituency in Suffolk as Member of Parliament from 2010 until the seat's abolition in 2024. During his fourteen years serving the coastal Suffolk constituency, Aldous established himself as a dedicated representative for his local area whilst contributing to national political debate from the Conservative benches in the House of Commons.
Throughout his parliamentary career, Aldous brought the perspectives and concerns of his Waveney constituents to Westminster, participating in legislative discussions and scrutiny across the range of policy matters considered by Parliament. Following the end of his parliamentary tenure when the Waveney constituency was abolished in the 2024 boundary changes, he continues to engage with political and policy issues. Peter Aldous writes commentary for Comment Central.
