Dr Nikzad Oraee is a business executive, researcher and sustainability specialist with professional experience spanning heavy industry, corporate governance, business strategy, and environmental and sustainability policy. He is Chief Executive Officer of a major gypsum manufacturer and Deputy Chief Executive Officer of a cement producer, giving him extensive practical experience of the challenges faced by energy-intensive industries, including energy costs, industrial competitiveness, resource efficiency and the impact of external economic and regulatory pressures. He also serves as an Honorary Research Fellow at Imperial College London. 

His doctoral research examined the relationship between the economic, environmental and social dimensions of corporate sustainability, with particular attention to corporate governance, long-term value creation and sustainable business development. His research and policy interests include energy security, industrial competitiveness, environmental policy, economic sustainability, corporate governance and the resilience of energy-intensive industries and wider economic systems to external shocks. His work seeks to bridge academic research and practical experience, with a particular interest in how policy can promote sustainable economic development while enabling businesses and markets to remain adaptable in changing economic and geopolitical conditions.
