About Mark

Mark Julian Francis Pawsey is a British Conservative politician who represented Rugby as Member of Parliament from 2010 until 2024. Born on 16 January 1957, Pawsey followed in the footsteps of his father, Jim Pawsey, who had previously served as MP for Rugby from 1979 to 1983 and then for Rugby and Kenilworth until 1997. Mark Pawsey successfully won the Rugby constituency at the 2010 general election and served his constituents for fourteen years in the House of Commons.

In December 2022, Pawsey announced his decision not to seek re-election at the forthcoming 2024 general election, bringing his parliamentary career to a close after more than a decade of service. Throughout his time in Parliament, he contributed to debates and policy discussions as a representative of the Conservative Party. Mark Pawsey writes commentary for Comment Central, sharing his insights on British politics and policy matters.
