About Grahame

Grahame Mark Morris is a British Labour Party politician who has represented Easington as a Member of Parliament since 2010. Born on 13 March 1961, Morris has spent over a decade serving his constituency in the House of Commons, where he has been an active voice on issues affecting his northeastern England constituents.

During his parliamentary career, Morris briefly joined the Opposition frontbench under Jeremy Corbyn's leadership in 2016, gaining experience in Labour's shadow ministerial team. Following this frontbench stint, he returned to the backbenches where he continues to serve, contributing to parliamentary debates and scrutinising government policy from the Commons. As a Labour MP representing a former mining constituency with deep industrial heritage, Morris brings particular insight to discussions around economic regeneration and community development. He writes commentary for Comment Central.
