About Daniel

Daniel Robert Kawczynski is a Polish-born British politician who served as a Conservative Party Member of Parliament until 2024. During his parliamentary career, he held several significant positions including Parliamentary Private Secretary at the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs and parliamentary aide to former Welsh Secretary David Jones. He also served as a member of the Foreign Affairs Select Committee, reflecting his expertise in international relations and foreign policy matters.

Kawczynski's particular area of focus was Central and Eastern Europe, a subject on which he advised Prime Minister David Cameron. In this capacity, he served as Special Advisor on Central and Eastern Europe and on Central and Eastern Europeans living in the United Kingdom, bringing valuable insight given his Polish heritage. His parliamentary tenure came to an end on 4 July 2024, when he lost his Shrewsbury constituency seat to Labour candidate Julia Buckley in what proved to be a historic electoral landslide for the Labour Party.
