Brooks Phillip Victor Newmark is a former British Conservative politician and businessman who represented Braintree as a Member of Parliament from 2005 to 2015. Before entering Parliament, he worked as a senior partner at a private equity firm and was involved in various business ventures. During his time in Westminster, he served as a government minister before standing down at the 2015 general election.
Since leaving Parliament, Newmark has pursued academic and charitable work, becoming a visiting academic and guest lecturer in politics at the University of Oxford. He founded the charity A Partner in Education and has been particularly active in campaigning on homelessness issues. His policy expertise in this area led to his appointment to the Rough Sleeping Advisory Panel, where he advises the Home Office on tackling rough sleeping.
